BATW September Meeting – September 16, 2017
Surf, Turf and Art: The Many Pleasures of Pacifica
September is about the best beach time in Northern California, so we’re heading for scenic Pacifica for a day of exploration and explanation. The program will be held at the Sanchez Art Center, followed by a choice of optional afternoon activities.
Greg Cochran, president of the Pedro Point Surf Club, will explore surfing here, past and present—and members can arrange to rent equipment or for a surfing lesson in the afternoon.
An exploration of Turf – the many hiking and walking trails – will be led by Sharron Walker of the Friends of San Pedro Valley, who is arranging a guided hike for the afternoon.
Cindy Abbott, executive director of the Sanchez Art Center, will talk about the art of Pacifica, and offer open studios at the Center and opportunities for hands-on art after the meeting.
Sign up to your official email invitation – and be sure to bring sunscreen and a sense of adventure!
Judith Horstman is arranging this event.
