For a second year in a row, Thomas C. Wilmer is a winner in the prestigious Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition, earning a Bronze award in the Audio Travel Broadcast category for a piece on Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The award was announced Oct. 25 at the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation convention, held this year in Wenzhou, China. The competition drew 1,307 entries and was judged by faculty members from the University of Missouri School of Journalism.

Wilmer’s three-part podcast series, produced by NPR affiliate KCBX, earned one of 80 awards presented in 24 categories.

Titled “Ann Arbor – Arts, Culture and History,” the series was broadcast on Journeys of Discovery with Tom Wilmer.
