In addition to winning a recent BATW Silver “Best Broadcast” for a NASA-JPL feature, Tom Wilmer and his video partner won “Best Short Documentary” at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival for “From Marshes to Morros” about the Morro Bay National Estuary.

The Outdoor Writers Association of California awarded Tom three First Place broadcast awards for his NPR Podcasts at the Spring Conference in Bishop, CA: Two First Place awards for Sierra Nevada Conservancy and a First Place for Golden Gate National Recreation Area interview with NPS Superintendent Chris Lehnertz.

Tom and his video partner also won OWAC’s Best Outdoor Video for their National Park Service/Alcatraz Cruises showcase. Fellow BATW members were also involved in the production, including Executive Producer Molly Blaisdell, with production field assistance and still photography by Jim Shubin, Laurie King and Robert Kaufman.
