BATW June 10 Event: The ‘New’ North Beach

In 2019 San Francisco ran a series, “Shuttered Stores: North Beach Crisis. What a difference a few years make. Thanks to a plethora of new restaurants and the preservation of established ones, this Italian neighborhood is once again a magnet for visitors and tourists alike.

On June 10 you’ll get a first-hand look at all the changes in this city-within-a-city. You’ll get a personal tour from Tony Gemignani, a North Beach icon who owns five restaurants in Little Italy, and you’ll meet Aaron Peskin, President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, who was largely credited with saving the area during the pandemic by approving parklets.

Our noon luncheon is hosted by the new restaurant and wine bar Convivium Enoteca.

Watch for your invitation by email and contact Ruth Carlson with questions.
