Six new BATW member-authored books have been added to our website store. There are now 16 member books listed, with a link to purchase each book.

Edward Hasbrouck had a June 2021 feature in the Sierra Club’s online magazine, SIERRA, entitled: The Biden Administration Wants to “Build Back Better”—What Could That Mean for Air Travel? Inside flying’s climate costs and what travelers and voters can do about them. Read the article here.

 

Karen Misuraca contributed several chapters to the new book, Backroads of the Great American West, from Motorbooks. Alongside dazzling images by Bay Area photographer, Gary Crabbe, are her itineraries, detailed descriptions, and maps for the California north coast; plus, Morro Bay, Marin, and the San Luis Obispo wine country.

 

Elaine Lee’s book “Go Girl: The Black Woman’s Book of Travel and Adventure” was recently selected by Redbook Magazine as one of 34 Travel Books That Will Take You Around the World. Lee shares this distinction with the likes of Anthony Bourdain, Elizabeth Gilbert and Cheryl Strayed and says the article “lays a nice foundation” for the 2nd edition of her book, which she hopes to complete this year.

 

Ginny Prior has two newly-published articles on the Explore Better website published by Delaware North, featuring insider tips and stories for visitors to our state and national parks. One is on Kayaking in and around the National Parks and the other is on incredible edibles in the parks (which I urge you NOT to eat).

 

Diane LeBow launches her new book, Dancing on the Wine-Dark Sea with a party at Book Passage, Corte Madera, July 10, 2 pm. All members are invited through this invitation.

 

Meanwhile, Yvonne Horn has a new book out that highlights Sonoma wine country. 100 Things to do in Sonoma County Before You Die! Here’s a recent article in the Press Democrat.
