After BATW’s August summer vacation, we’ll re-convene on Saturday, Sept.17, in the meeting room of the Mechanics Institute, 57 Post Street in San Francisco. Built in 1909 and designed by noted classical architect Albert Pissis, the building is home to a remarkable circular iron stairway with marble walls (Belgian black and Tennessee pink marbles).
We’ll have a two-fold program:
Charly Kayle, co-host of 96.5 KOIT’s popular morning program, “Andrew & Charly,” will show us how freelance writers, photographers, podcasters and videographers can use social media to their advantage (utilizing social media is part of her job, and she’s become a wiz with it). If there’s time, she’ll also talk a bit about changes to radio broadcasting brought about by the Internet. We’ll leave room for a robust Q&A.
Frances Larose, CEO of The Larose Group/PR Magic, is a marketing consultant for Taiwan Tourism Bureau, North America. She will give a short presentation about Taiwan as a destination and discuss upcoming press trip opportunities for BATW members.
