Our July 21st BATW meeting will be hosted by the wonderful Yerba Buena Center for the Arts located at 701 Mission Street, San Francisco. Public transportation is nearby, as well as many garages.
Presenters will be John Sundsmo, Lee Daley and Carole Terwilliger Meyers.
“A well-crafted picture is worth a thousand words”
The BATW July professional development meeting will showcase why photography has become more important in getting your work recognized and appreciated. A brief introduction will highlight the increased value of “Featured Images” and social media links because of changes made in the “Mobile First” initiative at Google. The advantages offered by Instagram as a social media platform will be discussed.
Following on the theme of Judith’s fine June meeting themed “Shameless Self promotion,” we will look at how the use of your photographs along with these other platforms can bring more professionalism to your article postings. End result? More readers as you increase your chances of being “found” by search engines like Google and Baidu.
Tutorials will also include introductory overviews of Instagram and Snapseed, which is a free cell phone photo-editing app from Google. If you haven’t done so already, please download the Instagram and Snapseed apps before the July meeting.
Here’s some details of this fantastic app: Snapseed is a complete and professional photo editor developed by photo gurus at Nik Software (acquired by Google 5 years ago.) It is available as a free download at the App store or $4.99 for the professional version.
