“From Moroccan Food to Palm Springs Fashions”
By Robert W. Bone
Some 80 members and guests brushed aside wind and rain last month to attend the annual BATW Holiday party in San Francisco.
The fun took place in the highly acclaimed Mourad Restaurant in the historic Pacific Bell building on New Montgomery Street. The event was hosted by the Greater Palm Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The restaurant’s Moroccan-inspired food was supplemented by appetizers of Palm Springs pitted and stuffed medjool dates provided by the Shields Date Garden in Indio, according to Joyce Kiehl, communications director for the Palm Springs sponsors.
Several prizes were given during drawings at the party. Among them were two coveted experiences: two-night stays in Greater Palm Springs, including airfare. These were won by Lee Daley and Laurie King.
All attendees were presented with gift bags containing resort information along with a scarf and knitted beanie. Kiehl explained that recipients could wear them when it’s chilly in San Francisco, while thinking about the always-warm days in sunny Palm Springs.
Thanks to all who made this holiday event such a fun celebration!
