Some 60 BATW members and guests ascended 29 floors above San Francisco’s Front Street last month to enjoy a special sky-high mixer.

The unusual meet-and-greet was held in the San Francisco Travel offices and was sponsored by San Francisco Travel and more than a half-dozen local and regional visitors bureaus and tourist promotional operations.

Attendees enjoyed dramatic views over the city while munching refreshments and receiving informational material provided by the hosts. The special event was held in lieu of the regular monthly meeting by the organization.

The group was welcomed by Joe D’Alessandro, President and CEO of San Francisco Travel, the city’s official destination marketing organization. The body has been credited for the dramatic growth in visitor arrivals in the Bay Area over the past several years.

The hosts also served appetizers, drinks, and gave away a dozen raffle prizes, including tickets to Giants games, sightseeing tours, hotel accommodations, etc. Besides San Francisco Travel, the partners included DFS, Giants Enterprises, Destination Tiburon, Visit Tuolumne County, the Exploratorium, Sightseeing Pass, Visit Concord, and Visit Sacramento.

BATW thanks go out to Laurie Armstrong Gossy, Shayna Yasuhara, and our own Executive Director Ginny Prior for their help in setting up the event.
