BATW Co-President Suzie Rodriguez reports on a fun-filled December meeting/holiday event:
A high-spirited crew of more than 70 gathered for BATW’s annual Holiday party on December 8.
The party was held at the glass-walled Sea Lion Center at Pier 39, where doors opened onto a deck that offered a close-up look at cavorting sea lions, as well as far-ranging views of the Bay and city lights on a winter night.
Our hosts: Mammoth Lakes Tourism and its partner, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. Michael Vanderhurst and Lara Kaylor of Mammoth Lakes were on hand to join in the fun and make sure everything went smoothly (Lauren Burke of Mammoth Mountain was unable to attend).
The scrumptious food – provided by Pier 39’s Fog Harbor Fish House Catering – was irresistible. Dishes included Clam Chowder in Mini Bread Bowls, Fog Harbor Salad, Seasonal Salad, Ahi “Poke” on Wonton, Crabcakes, Sliders (mini burgers), Seafood Penne Pasta, cheese platter, nuts, fruit and lots of dessert. Fog Harbor also provided the genial bartender, who delivered generous pours of wine and spirits.
The room’s limited seating seemed to amp up the fun by giving everyone the opportunity to move around and mingle.
“It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces at the BATW Holiday Christmas Party,” Kaylor said later. “Mammoth Lakes Tourism was thrilled to host the event. Getting to see some of our old friends, in addition to making new ones, made the event a great success.”
Some of those smiles came from presents provided by Mammoth Lakes and Mammoth Tourism to lucky ticket holders (tickets were provided at entry): Transpack heated boot warmer bags, which came with a free flight to Mammoth Lakes and skiing lift tickets.
