BATW – JANUARY MEETING – JAN. 21, 2019
Our January meeting will feature food, glorious food, and be held at Cultivar (https://www.cultivarsf.com), a wine bar and restaurant in the Marina, on MONDAY, Jan. 21, Martin Luther King Day, a holiday for most. (This is to avoid conflict and overlap with the Women’s March on Saturday, Jan. 19.)
BATW member and foodie Barbara Barrielle will moderate a panel of chefs from Marina restaurants who will present their food and their opinions about food writing. They include Chef Erik Lowe of Maybeck’s, Chef Andrei Bushuev and Sous Chef Evan from Cafe Boho on Steiner Street, and Cultivar owner Jodi, who will present food and possibly wine (as they also own the wine label “Cultivar”).
We’ll meet at 10 a.m. for coffee and socializing. At 10:30 a.m., the 2019 BATW Board of Directors will be introduced in a brief business meeting, and Heather Seliga of the Marina Merchants Association will talk about programs and options in the neighborhood. From 11 a.m. to noon, the panel will discuss food and food writing. At noon, the chefs will present lunch. The meeting will end at about 1 p.m.
Note: Space is limited to 40. Guests will be allowed, but only after members have signed up. We will evaluate attendance and availability three days before the meeting, on Jan. 18.
