From the Board: August 2017

Wendy VanHatten

This fall I will be leaving the Board, and we are looking for a volunteer to replace me as Treasurer. As a vital Board position, this person works closely with the President and the Executive Director. It’s a great opportunity to become more involved with BATW and offer your assistance to the Board.
Think about being an exciting member of the BATW Board. Contact Molly Blaisdell for more details.
On another note: With August upon us, you will want to sign up early for our August meeting as there is a limited amount of space available. The details are as follows:
Fairfield is known for two famous companies: Jelly Belly and Anheuser-Busch Brewery. However, there is much more to the Fairfield area. Suisun Valley is a vibrant, developing wine area with over two dozen growers. Family-owned farm stands are abundant, as well as an area producing award-winning olive oils.
Our August meeting will be held August 12. Please note it is the second Saturday of the month.
We will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery parking lot, where we will board a small bus for a tour of some of the Suisun Valley and Fairfield areas. First, we will tour the Il Fiorello Olive Oil Company to learn about making olive oil, tasting some of their specialties. From there we will tour and taste at Vezer Winery, where a light lunch will be provided. We will finish at Wooden Valley Winery, Suisun Valley’s oldest winery, where we will learn about the history of the Valley.
The bus will take us back to the brewery parking lot at approximately 2:30 p.m., where you can explore the brewery, take a tour, and taste.
This trip is being sponsored by Fairfield Conference and Visitors Bureau.
There is a maximum number of 36.
