BATW – July Meeting – July 20, 2013

10 a.m. – early afternoon

Jack London State Historic Park + Benziger Family Winery

“California State Parks” – Presentation by Inga Aksamit and Steve Mullen

BATW members Inga Aksamit and Steve Mullen, California State Park Volunteers, are graciously coordinating the July meeting at Jack London State Historic Park (http://www.jacklondonpark.com/) in Glen Ellen, Sonoma County. We’ll meet at picnic tables under shady oaks to hear about what is going on with California State Parks, the public/private partnerships and the strategic plan for Jack London State Park. A docent will provide a brief history of the literary legend and passionate rancher, Jack London, along with a tour of a few of the highlights of the park, including the cottage where Jack wrote many of his adventurous books. Park admission will be free.
After our visit to the park we’ll adjourn to nearby Benziger Family Winery (http://www.benziger.com/), a major sponsor and supporter of Jack London State Park. There we will enjoy a tour, wine tasting and light lunch.
If you signed up for tickets for the Transcendence Theatre’s (http://www.jacklondonpark.com/jack-london-broadway.html#.UY_2kLWkrjE) “Broadway Under The Stars” performance that evening at 7:30 p.m.,  you’ll be hearing from Inga Aksamit via email.
