Find 100 Days of Winter Wellness in Sonoma Valley
Sonoma, CA (December 7, 2023) – Winter is one of Sonoma Valley’s best kept secrets. The hills are brilliant in bright green, vivid yellow mustard flowers blossom between the dormant vines, cooler weather brings out the flannel and firepits making it the perfect season to kick off the new year and kick start your wellness goals for 2024.
There is still plenty of world-class wine and food to be had, but the region is also a haven for wellness experiences – not only in terms of physical health but also mental, spiritual and creative outlets. Sonoma Valley has been a wellness destination since the 19th century, known for the healing properties of the area’s hot springs and that whole health mindset remains a strong part of the Sonoma lifestyle today.
“We’re inviting visitors to say goodbye to the season of excess and the culture of busyness to slow down to the local pace and find their winter wellness in Sonoma Valley,” said Tim Zahner, executive director of the Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau (SVVB).
As part of the “Sonoma Winter Wellness” season, starting January 1, Sonoma Valley shines the spotlight on “100 Days of Wellness,” a guide to literally 100 ways to rejuvenate your mind and spirit between January and April 15 (We know that’s more than 100 days, but figured with Tax Day looming, a bit of wellness would be useful).
The online guide features special healthy food events, links to recipes, docent-led walks and hikes, full moon ceremonies, live performances, and classes for those who want to learn anything from cheesemaking to ice skating to tai chi.
Local hotel partners are also offering packages that combine a multi-night stay with spa experiences, yoga and more.
“There are at least 100 unique wellness experiences between New Year’s Day and Tax Day,” Zahner said. “You can try something different every day and still have time to enjoy what Sonoma Valley is best known for – hundreds of tasting rooms, incomparable boutiques and iconic restaurants.”
