A message from Triple Coffee founder Tim Melano:
I just wanted to take some time to thank you for being part of the Triple Coffee story. In case you didn’t know, our coffee venture just had its 1st birthday on November 20th.
To say that 2020 has been a crazy year is a severe understatement. The highs have been high, and the lows have been low, but our mission to connect coffee producers directly with coffee consumers has fueled us, and that has beared amazing fruit.
First and foremost, we have seen that having a direct relationship with small farms gives us access to spectacular coffees. And don’t take our word for it… not only did we do super well in this year’s Coffee Review of Central American coffees (ranked 2nd out of 62 submission), WE ARE FINALISTS IN THE GOOD FOOD AWARDS. If you aren’t aware of the Good Food Awards, it is a very prominent (and very national 😀) gourmet food competition for socially and environmentally conscious food companies. Wish us luck! Being a Good Food Award *WINNER* could propel us to national prominence.
Second, our mission has been brought to life in a very real way through our Virtual Coffee Tastings. Essentially the way the tasting works is every participant gets samples of three coffees from our menu and super simple instructions on how to brew them. That’s great because we are tasting gourmet coffees from the safety of our homes, but the real kicker is that being on Zoom means that we can invite our coffee producers to join the convo, and that’s where the magic lies. We are getting amazing reception for this very innovative coffee experience and we have now done tastings with Google, YouTube, Snap, and Cisco, just to name a few.
Ultimately though, we would be nowhere without your support and your encouragement. For that I am grateful. It is because of you that Triple Coffee can work on alleviating economic imbalances (by paying farmers high prices for their coffee) and promote the exchange of perspectives (by directly connecting consumers and producers). This is the ultimate goal. Drinking the best coffee is simply the means to the end.
