BATW Hosts Two Major Meetings in January

Happy New Year to everyone in BATW! The Bay Area rain and Sierra snow are a welcome relief from the dry conditions we faced in 2022.

Something that won’t be dry, however, is our January 28 party on Treasure Island. Whiskey and wines from the island will be served, along with great food at our first event of 2023. It’ll be a great way to catch up with each another, introduce new potential members to BATW and learn about the development plans for this famed swath of land in San Francisco Bay.

An equally important event is our annual business meeting on Zoom, January 25 at 6 p.m. The new BATW Board of Directors and its officers will be introduced by the outgoing president who will hand the coveted BATW Gavel over to the new president who will conduct the meeting.

There will be a financial report from the treasurer detailing income and expenses, an update on membership numbers, reports on projects and committees, and an overview of the year past and the year to come.

Even though 2022 had its challenges for the travel industry, BATW and its members continued to thrive, producing and publishing outstanding work in many areas, including books. We hosted outstanding meetings for the membership – both live and virtual – including professional development seminars, a watercolor class on documenting travels on the go,  a sail on a tall ship, a seminar on eco travel and the changing climate, a new member winery mixer and more. Save the date and plan to attend our annual meeting on Zoom. The invitation and Zoom link will be coming in your email soon.  – The BATW Board of Directors
