Laurie McAndish King’s latest book, An Elephant Ate My Arm: More True Stories from a Curious Traveler, won a silver from North American Book Awards. She’s going strong; this is the eighth national/international award Elephant has won, in addition to multiple awards for the stories themselves. Laurie is also co-hosting a one-day travel-writing workshop on Feb. 25 from 10-4 p.m. Contact Laurie for more information.

Brandy Collins will be reading on February 9th at the Salesforce Park Poetry Series, hosted by SF Grotto. The weekly poetry series runs through February at Salesforce Park in San Francisco. This event is free and open to the public with the first event  on Feb. 2nd at 5pm and curated by JD Beltran.
