BATW board member Erin Deinzer has had two articles published recently: one on finding the best theme parks across the U.S. for corporate and incentive groups, and the other a destination guide for Florida in The Meetings Magazine’s Corporate & Incentive Travel. Highlights of the first article include coverage on Orlando, FL, Santa Clara, CA, Sandusky, OH, Pigeon Forge, TN, Hershey, PN, and (in print) Branson, MO. Read it here. Lalit Kumar conducted a Nature and Adventure Poetry workshop at Punch Bucket Literary festival, Asheville on Sep 21, drawing upon his latest book on California Outdoors, ‘Yosemite of my Heart’. He has also been selected to be a part of the upcoming South Asian Literature and Arts Festival, a collaborative event co-organized by Art Forum SF and Stanford Center for South Asia. He will be reading from his poetry books.

Russ Johnson has published Gone Astray, a new humor book, illustrated by BATW member/artist Pat Meier-Johnson. It features twenty short essays that take readers to a duck pond for an episode of Duckton Abbey, a guide to places to go AFTER you die, and an escape to the paradise Island of Delitious, “…shaped, like a filet of sole ringed by sandy beaches looking as if had been battered and breaded by God herself…ringed by glistening rounded foliage arranged like toasted brussel sprouts.” Some of these stories were featured on Russ’ podcast of the same name. Ginny Prior published a One Fine Weekend piece on Morro Bay in Diablo Magazine for its September/October issue. Read it here.
