Anne M. Breedlove is the sixth of ten children born and raised in Albany, New York. Visiting San Francisco during a cross-country road trip in 1972, she decided to stay. A happenstance event in 1997 opened her eyes to the possibility of cycling not just for fun and recreation but using the bicycle as a means of international travel. In 2008 Anne and her husband Jim decided to retire young to travel as much of the world as they could on their bikes, visiting twenty-one countries and pedaling more than 40,000 miles before Covid.

Her first book, Part-Time Nomads, Traveling the World by Bicycle, was released September 27, 2023. You can find it at Browser Books on Fillmore, Russian Hill Bookstore on Polk, and Bird & Beckett on Chenery or online at Bookshop.org, Barnes & Noble, as well as your least-favorite monopolistic website.

Anne is also a fine-art printmaker and sells her screen prints in a number of shops in San Francisco, especially post.script. on California at Fillmore and Serendipity on Valencia at 19th St. She had her first solo show at Bazaar Cafe on California & 21st Ave, and has three prints in Studio Gallery’s holiday Tiny Show on Pacific at Polk.

Look for her second book, Happy Campers, about bicycling across North America and halfway back, coming soon. She now happily juggles her time between art, bicycling, all things French, gardening, grandchildren, hot yoga, lap-swimming, printmaking, sewing, walking this wonderful City, and writing, but not necessarily in that order.
