After several decades of covering lifestyle content for various newspapers and magazines, Laura Levy Shatkin has honed her grammatical know-how and editorial competency. She has also created captivating videos, podcasts, and broadcast content. She is currently Editor-in-Chief at Napa Sonoma Magazine.
Laura’s work has appeared in Napa Sonoma Magazine, Napa Register, Diablo Magazine, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, Make IT Better Magazine, Somm Journal, Chicago Reader, Today’s Chicago Woman, and Wine & Spirits Magazine, to name a few. Video work has appeared on WineTasteTv. She served as Executive Producer for the NBC5 Chicago Broadcast show “Taste.”
Entering the new world of generative AI, Laura currently contributes editing and development work for AI prompts and corresponding AI responses. In this capacity, she incorporates personas and constraints to enhance functionality and accuracy of AI Working on Outlier.AI projects for RemoTasks and ScaleAI, Laura implements RLHF (reinforcement learning from human feedback ) to create prompt response content of extremely high editorial and grammatical quality. The result goes above & beyond current AI capabilities in writing, logic, truthfulness, and bias, educating the chatbot with human nuance. Incorporating executive editorial skills with problem-solving, superior communication, and human empathy, Laura promotes higher intelligence that doesn’t look, feel, or sound artificial.
In her spare time, Laura has devoted over a decade to renovating her homes, investing in residential properties, and generating high-end rental income through targeted real estate investments. She is a licensed California Realtor and a proud member of the Vanguard Properties team in St Helena.
