BATW – October Meeting – Saturday, Oct. 19

10 a.m. – 12 noon

“Open Forum/Roundtable Discussion on Travel Writing”

Location:
Disney Family Museum
104 Montgomery St., The Presidio (not the Montgomery Street downtown)
San Francisco
This meeting was arranged by Georgia Hesse after the government shutdown also shut down the site of our planned meeting at Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historic Park. Kudos to Georgia! Thanks also to the Disney Family Museum for graciously agreeing to host us.
The meeting will include an open forum/roundtable discussion with guest speakers on improving our craft, how to get invited on press trips, utilizing electronic media to aid you in improving your grammar, and how to get your work accepted. Following that we will be able to tour the opening of Tree Fall, a new sculptural work by artist Andy Goldsworthy that opens that very day in the historic Powder Magazine in the Presidio’s Main Post. (The Presidio has two other creations by Goldsworthy.) Questions from the membership are encouraged.
Parking is free on the weekend. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
Note: If you plan to attend, please email Erin Caslavka ([email protected]) or Georgia Hesse ([email protected]). The Disney Family Museum has generously offered to alllow us to invite guests, so if you would like to bring one along, please feel free to do so (just mention your guest in the email).
