Explore Butte County Launches Museum Month 2025 In March
Program provides opportunity to experience the area’s history, art, and cultural museums
[Chico, CA] – February 6 – Explore Butte County is excited to announce its first Museum Month in March 2025. All month long, visitors to the region’s extensive network of museums, galleries, and cultural centers celebrate history, art, and culture with new exhibits and special programming. The event has grown from the annual free Museum Weekend, which will still take place this year on March 1-2, 2025, when admission to all participating museums is free from 10am-4pm.
Museum Month makes it easy to experience exclusive exhibits, guided tours, hands-on workshops, and live demonstrations. The array of participating museums is ideal for both art connoisseurs, dabblers, and families, with many museums offering exhibits, scavenger hunts, and hands-on activities. A few of the nearly 20 participating venues include Museum of Northern California Art (monca), Chico Children’s Museum, Gold Nugget Museum, the Oroville Chinese Temple, and the Gridley Museum.
“Butte County’s art and culture scene is creative, diverse, and deeply tied to our community and Northern California roots,” said Nichole Farley, Executive Director of Explore Butte County. “Whether you love traditional fine arts, history, or science, there’s something for every museum lover.”
This year, guests will get more from their visits with Explore Butte County’s digital Museum Month Passport.
