After the madness of election week, turn your mind to the simpler things in life with a two-part whiskey tasting and cocktail-crafting-at-home class brought you in partnership with San Francisco’s The Whiskey Shoppe, 10th Street Distillery and JVS Imports. This virtual experience will take part over two Saturdays and introduce you not only one of San Francisco’s premier distilleries and an unreleased blend in honor of groovier times but also a master mixologist class on how to properly mix social lubricants for the strangest Thanksgiving yet. Participants will receive:
- Sample bottles of 10th Street’s Peated and Rye whiskies alongside an unreleasedbottle of “Furthur” whisky, a groovy blend in honor of the bus which inspired Tom Woolf’s The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test as well as a guided tasting of all three by one of 10th Street’s master distillers
- A self-contained cocktail crafting kit for an at-home cocktail set-up, guided by a mixologist from the Bay Area’s largest importer of spirits
Details: Participation is free for BATW members and will include the cost of shipping to members’ addresses. Continental United States addresses only — no international shipping, unfortunately!
When:
— Whiskey Tasting: November 7th 4 p.m.
— Cocktail Crafting Class: November 14th 4 p.m.
Registration is by email invitation only. You will need to register individually for each event by October 10th. This ensures plenty of time for your samples to make their way!
Please note: you do not have to sign up for both events. You may sign up for and participate in just one if unable to attend the other. We encourage attendance at both events to properly enjoy the generosity of our partner, The Whiskey Shoppe, in arranging them for us — and get the most out of the experiences!
Members who have registered for either event, received its corresponding kit and are not marked as attending during the Zoom meeting will.be charged a $15 no-show fee per BATW policies. If you have any technical difficulties in attending, don’t hesitate to contact Matthew Eley at [email protected] or (626) 464-2676.
It was great fun to receive and unwrap the samples of 10th Street’s Peated and Rye whiskies alongside an unreleased sample bottle of “Furthur” whisky! Not every day brings such a treat in our mail. Looking forward to the tasting on Nov. 7th! Thank you, Matthew Eley, for arranging such a novel event,
