Bay Area Travel Writers – get ready for your Hollywood close up!  Our March 21 meeting will give us an inside look at the Hollywood celebrity life, with Starline Tours sponsoring our meeting.
Philip Ferentinos, Director of Starline Tours, will share the history of Hollywood’s unique celebrity phenomenon – the movie stars’ homes tour – including how it began, and Hollywood’s continued appetite for all things celebrity. Along with some PowerPoint and still images, we’ll get one or two videos detailing Starline’s work with Ellen DeGeneres. We’ll also hear how Hollywood has changed over the years, get an update on the growth of the oldest and largest tour operator in Los Angeles, and get a chance to win some great overnight packages and tour tickets.
The meeting takes place in San Francisco at Fisherman’s Wharf, at the Pier 2620 Hotel, 2620 Jones Street, San Francisco CA  94133.
Our meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with a meet-and-greet, followed by a half-hour business meeting, from 10:30-11 a.m. Next up will be the Starline Tours presentation and a hosted buffet lunch. Tours of the recently-renovated hotel will be offered.
The meeting location will be in 2620 Hotel’s Sonoma Meeting Room, directly off the Lobby.
The hotel is easy to reach by public transportation, as it’s:

  • Two blocks from the Cable Car turnaround; and,
  • Two blocks from the “F” street car line;
  • 2 blocks from the 30-Stockton bus route on Columbus Avenue.

Metered street parking is available (good luck with that), and a parking lot is adjacent to the hotel (it’s expensive).
