Elaine Lee is thrilled to announce her partnership with Panorama Journal in the production of their epic and historic Paris edition (8/1/25). Working with Panorama writer, BATW member and Go Girl contributor, Faith Adiele, as well as Panorama Director, Matt Webb, they created a special feature section that showcases two essays from the anthology that Lee edited, “Go Girl: The Black Woman’s Book of Travel and Adventure” (1997), and two essays from its sequel, “Go Girl 2 (2024)”.

They also included an updated reflection on Elaine’s first trip to Paris where she caught a travel bug that altered the trajectory of her life and career in wondrous ways. The feature section reveals the diversity of Black women’s travel and the importance of Paris to the Black imagination.

Award-winning writer Faith Adiele leads Rethinking Travel Writing, a five-session Zoom course hosted by Off Assignment, held Saturdays, Sept. 6–Oct. 4, 1–3 p.m. EST. Participants will explore voice, place, ethics, and decolonizing language, with insights from guest authors Bani Amor, Noo Saro-Wiwa, Carey Baraka, and Pier Nirandara.
