Laurie McAndish King and Camille Cusumano will be among the 40 authors with a table at Book Passage’s Local Author Book Fair on Saturday, April 25th from 1 to 3 o’clock. Sponsored by California Writers Club of Marin and Left Coast Writers, it’s a celebration of National Independent Booksellers’ Day. Refreshments will be served, giveaways will abound, and best of all, author registration fees will be donated to 10,000 Degrees, a non-profit providing scholarships to deserving students across California.
Free admission, keynote address by Jasmin Darznik. Show your love for independent bookstores, lend a hand to college-aspiring students, mingle with the local writer community, and buy some books!
King also hopes you’ll visit past BATW President Diane LeBow in her new senior community at the Coterie. It’s easy to get to (on Van Ness Avenue) and has free valet parking. Here’s a sneak peek in comic/zine form that Laurie McAndish King put together, honoring Diane.
Lina Broydo just returned from a week’s trip to New York where she visited the Frick Museum, which currently showcases the magnificent and extremely popular Gainsborough paintings exhibit. She says the visitors’ lines are very long and the tickets price is quite high; but with her BATW Press Card she was offered free admission and access to an entrance with no line. She says she felt like a VIP!
Ginny Prior and Nora Tarte are two members of BATW who have been writing for 7×7 Magazine and 57 Degree and 65 Degree Magazines. The editors of both publications were featured in the last BATW Editors Panel. You can find the full recording of the panel discussion on our BATW You Tube channel when you click on BENEFITS after logging into BATW.org.
Best wishes, Diane, in your new lovely home! Laurie, your comic/zine tribute to Diane is delightful. And your “What Do We Do Now?” zine is absolutely fabulous!
