Maxine Rose Schur’s travel essays have appeared in numerous publications including the San Francisco Chronicle, The Christian Science Monitor, Américas, The Los Angeles Times, Salon.com, Insight Guides and on NPR. Her essays have twice won the Lowell Thomas Award from the Society of American Travel Writers. Maxine’s memoir, Places in Time, was named Best Travel Book by the North American Travel Journalists Association and won the Gold award from the Society of American Travel Writers.
Maxine is also the author of award-winning children’s books and teaches both children’s book writing and travel writing. Maxine currently lives in Novato where she is finishing her second book of travel essays.
